The Beginnings
The story of Pet Paw Shack starts with me, Kimberliene Sabinin, the founder. From a young age, I was captivated by the world of animals.
Growing up in a home filled with a variety of pets—from dogs and cats to birds and even more exotic companions—my love for animals was nurtured from the start.
These early experiences shaped my understanding of the unique bond that exists between humans and their pets, and they instilled in me a deep desire to care for and protect these cherished companions.
As I grew older, my passion for animals led me to pursue formal education in Animal Science, with a focus on pet nutrition and behavior.
My studies, combined with hands-on experience working as a veterinary assistant and pet nutrition consultant, provided me with the knowledge and skills needed to truly understand the needs of pets and how to meet them.
But beyond the technical expertise, what really drove me was the realization that many pet owners lacked access to clear, trustworthy information that could help them make the best decisions for their pets.
The Birth of Pet Paw Shack
Pet Paw Shack was born out of this realization and my desire to bridge that gap. I envisioned a place where pet owners could turn for reliable, easy-to-understand guidance on all aspects of pet care—from nutrition and health to training and travel.
But I didn’t want it to just be a one-way flow of information; I wanted to build a community where people could share their experiences, learn from each other, and support one another in their journey as pet owners.
In 2010, I took the leap and launched Pet Paw Shack, starting with just a few articles and a lot of passion. The response was overwhelmingly positive, as pet owners appreciated having a trusted source of information that was both comprehensive and approachable.
Over time, the site grew, attracting contributions from other experts in the field and expanding its content to cover an even wider range of topics.
